Internships
Overview
The internship program within Internal Audit recruits qualified students who are interested in gaining hands-on audit experience. Interns are assigned to an audit team where they become fully integrated in the audit process, including planning, coordinating, executing the fieldwork, and developing findings and recommendations. The program provides an opportunity for students who are thinking about going into the audit profession to learn essential audit techniques under close supervision of experienced auditors.
Eligibility & Requirements
Candidates must be enrolled in a KU graduate program, maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or more, and remain in academic good standing throughout the program. Successful candidates should have excellent command of the English language, effective verbal and written communication, and experience with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Schedule & Location
The office offers internships for the fall and spring semesters that require a 20 hour per week commitment. There are also summer positions that require a 30 hours per week commitment. Participants perform a majority of their duties within Internal Audit but, on occasion, will accompany professional audit staff to other locations on the Lawrence or Medical Center campus.
